The field is very flyable and with the recent nice weather it is ready to go. Also special props (no pun intended) goes out to member Andy Hood for taking the time to paint and repair some of our tables for all to use, please do your best to keep them in good condition. Please be cautious as you enter the field for children playing, the local dog and the extremely friendly cat….he is friendly enough to jump into your open vehicle so just be sure you dont take home a stowaway!

Some pictures of the new field after a recent grass trimming…these give you an idea of the size of the new runway. The field is up and operational and fully sanctioned by MAAC. We will be calling work parties in the near future to “spruce” the place up a bit and move some gravel into the parking areas and access roads. Please stay tuned for the dates and times of the work parties. Anyone that is interested in volunteering some time to maintain the grass runway, please contact one of the executive members.

One of our club members Paul Dries, took to the skies with a video camera attached to his aircraft, flying from our new field it is amazing what you can see from the sky. Kind in mind this is a very wide angle lens and things appear to be much closer than they actually are. I have been reassured by Paul that his circuit was quite small and the he was not nearly as high as it appears. Here is the link to the video…check it out

There are a few divots that need to be filled but nothing that will hinder flying whatsoever. Once again, be cautious as you enter the flying field area and watch out for kids playing on the roadway. Remember to enter the field, it is the second or third driveway on the left hand side, not the first one. See you at the field.

GOOD NEWS MEMBERS…we are now up and operational. The club flying site has recieved MAAC approval and we are ready to go. Out of respect for our new neighbours we ask that all planes begin flying at 10AM…please be aware of the fact that the runway grass has yet to be cut to a shorter length, planes with small wheels or wheel pants may find it difficult to achieve a take off run and landing may prove a little challenging…Keep safety in mind at all times. Rermember to watch out for kids playing on the roadway as you approach the driveway to the field…See you at the field

Hello fellow members, as we develop this website, one of the things we would like to include is a history of the RCFCBC and how it all came together. I am looking for some of our long term members to provide me with some of the details of the club from years back and how it all progressed to where it is now. If you have some factual knowledge of the RCFCBC, please drop me an email at newsman@telus.net with your summary of what you know. I have been informed that there is a photo album of some of the pictures from years back, it would be great to get some of the historical pictures of the club and add those to the website as well.

Thanks
