"Critter Care" is a non profit Volunteer run group that rescues injured wild animals, treats them and then releases them back into the wild. They are hosting an open house to the General Public and have asked RCFCBC to conduct a "Static Display" of our "beautiful birds". Last year the event was visited by 4,000 people.
When they host these events, they invite other groups, unique businesses and or clubs from the community to show case who they are and what they are about. This year they have invited RCFCBC to be a part of their event, by having a Static Display and possibly even some flying.
This would be an opportunity for RCFCBC to make some "brownie points" and give back to the community. Events like this help to show the public we are more than a self interest group.
With the expected attendance numbers, we may get the chance to interest new people to join our club. Once flying starts at the new filed membership will increase. However by the time the first plane takes off "CONLEY Field" our operating budget will be at an all time low and new members will be needed to refill the "war chest."
Critter Care is asking for a Static Display and possibly even some flying. The area was assessed and found not suitable for flying as there are far too many trees and the open areas could be congested with visitors. This said "foamies" or small electric planes could put on a display, crowds permitting.
It is events like these that give our Club Recognition and support from the community. A volunteer "CD" is requested to organize this event.
